Mass message delivery
Tanla's Short Message Service Center (SMSC) seamlessly handles ever-increasing volumes of person-to-person (P2P) and application to person (A2P) messaging streams. The SMSC optimizes the network to cope with complex and constantly evolving messaging needs of current and future users.
As a full short message center, the SMSC is a highly scalable platform. Powered by market-leading technology and ideal for fulfilling SMS market needs, the SMSC works as a store-and-forward platform with advanced retry mechanisms for undelivered messages.
A carrier-grade, high-throughput platform, the SMSC handles input, collection, storage, management and forwarding of mobile originated (MO) and mobile terminated (MT) messages. It provides a single point of access for content and value added services providers, thereby simplifying third party service provisioning.
The SMSC supports the MAP protocol to communicate with MSC's and HLRs in the GSM network, and also supports the delivery and reception of messages and content from an External Short message entity. It can easily integrate with other value-added services.
Support
Supports MAP 2 and 3 versions and supports multiple SMSC GTs i.e. Single Node – Multiple SMSC Gts.
Universal Language support
Supports all languages, including the GSM and UCS2 character sets.
Ring-Tone and Logo support
Compliant with 3GPP specifications regarding User Data Header for Enhanced Short Messaging (EMS).
Delivery notifications and retry
Sends a delivery confirmation to the sender or retries sending undelivered messages using configurable retry policies per error code and HLR alerts.
Bulk SMS group delivery
Allows operators to send the same message to a defined list (e.g. Marketing campaign) and individual messages to individual subscribers (e.g. Payment confirmations).
Capacity
Tanla's multi-threaded architecture ensures that the SMSC supports hundreds of messages per second depending upon the content personalization and user preferences.
Billing Interface
The SMSC provides flexible billing options to operators. For all SMS transactions CDRs are generated by SMSC gateway and written to the billing log files in the CDRs directory, the time interval for which is operator configurable.
Enhanced Reports
Daily, weekly and monthly reports are available, as well as improved trace data.
